"The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country."  ~Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the U.S.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why does PEP require that students taking classes from the “Core” groups take the entire “Core” listing?

Answer

By the time a student has reached the “Logic” stage of learning, around 7th or 8th grade, he wants to make connections between the subjects he studies. The classical style of learning encourages learners to make those connections. Thus when a student studies history he reads the literature of that age, and he also learns about the philosophies, religions and governments that developed during the same time period. He begins to see the thread that links the literature, the history, and the philosophies of that time. When the classes from the Core curriculum are taken “a la carte”, the student misses out on this excellent approach to learning that is full, rich and rewarding.
