HIGH SCHOOL PLANNING

Structuring Your high school educational Plan

  • The foundation of your PEP education begins and ends with the Humanities Core classes.

The Humanities Core classes integrate the history, composition & literature, and worldview disciplines into a cohesive curriculum that provides a strong understanding of the material. As PEP students progress throughout their middle and high school education, these Core classes build upon one another every year to provide a solid foundation in humanities.

Learn more about the progression of the Humanities Core Classes here.

I wanted to let you know that my son Jesse received a full scholarship to Chapman University in Orange County, CA for Screenwriting worth $180,000! We considered pulling Jesse out of PEP after Core E to do PSEO but Marilyn Childress encouraged us to stay for his senior year at PEP. We are so glad we stayed - Jesse has loved his Core F classes and has experienced such a rich year! Amazing!

  • Supplement your Humanities Core classes with math, science, and other electives.

Select these classes based on two areas:

    • Potential college major

    • Specific college acceptance requirements

  • Create a focus for your extra-curricular activities (work, athletics, music, ministry/service, etc.) to support your overall high school plan.

Hi Mrs. L!
I hope you’re doing well! I just wanted to send you an email and let you know how grateful I am for you! I’m now one month into college and am taking an intro to speech class. We had our first speech last week. It was a 4-5 minute speech on a famous person and we had to talk about their accomplishments and influence on culture. On speech day, as all 28 of my classmates around me sat in their chairs nervously wiping the sweat from their brows, I sat in my seat perfectly calm. I know the only thing I can attribute my calmness to is your class and the amount of preparation you allowed us to have. So thank you!! Thank you for your abundance of time and support. The work last year seemed overwhelming at first, but it was so worth it! I feel so prepared and ready for college now that I’m actually experiencing it. And the 4-5 minute speech seemed like nothing compared to our senior thesis! :)

I cannot thank you enough for all you have done!

Sincerely,
Sarah
